About Dr. Ripul R. Panchal
Dr. Panchal is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon whose practice covers spinal trauma, spinal and intradural tumors, degenerative disease, osteoporotic fractures, adult deformity, infection, and complex revision and reconstructive surgery. He served as Director of the Spine Fellowship Program and as Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine for five years before moving to Texas. He has trained post-graduate neurosurgeons and visiting spine fellows from China, India and South Korea, and today serves as Chief of the Department of Surgery at Medical City Plano and Co-Director of Spine Surgery at Texas Health Hospital Frisco. He believes there is always more that can be done to help his patients. Dr. Panchal is fluent in English and Gujarati, and cares for every patient as though they were a member of his own family.Major Research Focus
Spinal biomechanics, robotic spinal surgery, trauma, and clinical outcomes. Dr. Panchal has led and contributed to national and international trials spanning spinal cord injury, minimally invasive technique, interbody spacer and corpectomy cage design, image guidance, and robot-assisted placement — and is regularly invited to present that work abroad.Awards & Recognition
